Did You Know...
83% of our patients either work or live in a household where someone is employed. Last year we provided free health care valued at $30 million, including $16 million in prescription medications. 329 patients currently participate in our diabetic education program to learn how to manage their diabetes through changes in diet and exercise. 2/3rds of our patients are women. In 2006, for early detection of breast cancer, we provided 1,128 free mammograms and 1,293 clinical breast exams for women between the ages of 40-64. For every dollar we receive, we leverage $32 of in-kind care. Medical and dental professionals at all levels volunteer their time and talents to provide patient care. A third diabetic education class has been added to the two already conducted weekly. 2 GYNs and a GYN Nurse Practitioner have joined our ranks as specialist volunteers. Every patient is screened for Hepatitis C, and 1,500 with elevated liver functions have received further tests required for diagnosis of the disease. 2,261 new medical patients and 1,583 new dental patients now consider Health Right their health care “home.” Nearly 4,000 senior citizens received help in navigating the enrollment nightmares for the new Medicare Part D prescription drug plan—and for those not eligible for additional federal assistance, we continue to help with medications. |
