How WV Health Right Can Help

West Virginia Health Right’s patients are a population at risk because they lack the resources to afford health insurance.  Health Right serves as the “medical home” for these patients, most of who previously sought care in local hospital emergency rooms or received no care at all.

Patients that have no health insurance are asked to complete an application and provide proof of income to be eligible for services.  Health Right accepts patients that meet the Federal Poverty Level guidelines.

During 2006, WV Health Right provided in-kind medical and dental care valued at over $29 million. Health Right patients have access to medical and dental primary and specialty care, diagnostic testing, laboratory testing, mental health services and health education.  Dentists, doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, hygienists, therapists, technicians and others volunteer their time so the uninsured poor have access to care and treatment.

Specialty care is provided in the following areas:

Asthma/Allergy

Cardiovascular Disease
