Dr. Greg Clarke was recognized as WV Health Right’s Volunteer of the Year at the clinic’s annual fundraiser. Dr. Clarke has volunteered at WV Health Right for over 13 years, has served on the clinic’s Board of Directors for 12 years, and was Baord President from July 2001 through June 2003. Dr. Clarke has provided medical care to thousands of WV Health Right’s patients as well serving as our collaborating physician for many years with the clinic’s nurse practitioners. Further, Dr. Clarke served as the “principle investigator” for the clinic’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) three year project. The NIH study is widely quoted nationally as documentation that hospital utilization and emergency room visits are significantly reduced for patients who are under the care of a free clinic.
Dr. Clarke has touched the lives of many, many WV Health Right patients and is noted for his thorough and compassionate care. Patricia White, Executive Director, praised Dr. Clarke for his years of support and dedication to the mission of WV Health Right and for his steadfast leadership on the Board of Directors. “Greg has been invaluable over the years as our clinic grew and expanded its mission. He has been very devoted to the patients while also serving as a wonderful mentor to me”, she said.
The Board and staff of WV Health Right are pleased to honor Dr. Clarke as our 2009 Volunteer of the Year for his outstanding commitment to the clinic and its patients
